1. What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters is an international organization aimed at helping people improve their speaking and leadership skills. Ebony Toastmasters is a club under Toastmasters that seeks to create a supportive space for everyone looking to become better communicators and leaders. 

2. Who can attend an Ebony Toastmasters meeting??

Everyone is welcome to Ebony Toastmasters 

3. When does Ebony Toastmasters meet?

We meet 6.45 - 8.45pm every Monday except on Ontario holidays 

4. Where does Ebony Toastmasters meet?

Our meetings are currently in a hybrid format. We meet online via Zoom. Please email ebonytoastmasters85@gmail.com for an invite link.

Our in-person location is 21 Blackthorn Avenue, Toronto 

5. Do I need prior public speaking experience before attending a meeting?

No. Come join us and see for yourself how easy it can be to take that first step in becoming the confident speaker you want to be! 

6. How can I become a member?

You can attend meetings as a guest as many times as you want. You will complete a membership registration form and pay required fees (see below) 

7. Is there a fee to attend as a guest?

There are no fees to attend a meeting as a guest. 

8. How much does it cost to become a member?

Annual membership dues come to CAD240. This is paid in CAD120 for each six month period. If you join in the middle of a 6-month period, the amount you pay is reduced/prorated accordingly. There is also a one-time New Member fee of US$20. 

9. Is it required that I speak at the club meeting?

No. You are not obligated to speak when visiting. You may simply observe if you wish
